Let me first thank you for visiting my blog Learning is the Game. I truly believe learning should be fun. Over the years I have found games to be a great way to get students, young and old, interested and excited about learning.
I have been fortunate enough to teach in many different setting over the past several years, including an environmental science camp in Massachusetts. My other teaching experiences include fourth grade, sixth-eighth grade language arts, adult ELL (English Language Learners),and pre-GED reading courses. This fall I will be starting my fifth year as a K-8 EL teacher in the wonderful city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. My undergrad is in elementary and middle school language arts education. I also received my Masters of Education Literacy with an emphasis in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Grand Valley State University.
As a teacher I always look forward to the fall and the start of another school year. This fall will be exceptionally exciting for me as my beautiful wife and I celebrate our first year of marriage! Obviously, that's me in the glasses.
When I'm not teaching or creating exciting things for my classes, I enjoy activities that get me in the great outdoors. Most of my summer will be filled with camping, hiking and lots of fishing. That is until my first child is born. This summer my wife and I are expecting a son!
